Wow!! I just read through most of your "Encouragement" chapter and was completely impressed with what you have accomplished. I'm not just saying that because of the awesome lesson I just received in encouraging someone (ha!)~ I truly am blown away!
You know it's good when in reading this I forgot about the writer and was just really interested in what was being communicated.

About Me
Many people in pain do not seek professional treatment because of the stigma attached to being depressed, the cost of such treatment and misdiagnosis of what is really going on inside. They need someone to care about them. I have spent years listening to people's problems, feeling their pain and hoping to help with the healing process. But many times I didn't know what to do to encourage them to continue on in the midst of tough times.
After taking classes on counseling and coping, and having several wonderful mentors in my own life, I realized understanding, listening and connecting are the keys to bringing hope to a discouraged person. My world needs healing words, inspiring words, caring words; I wanted to know the right words to say.
Thus a lifetime of learning how to encourage became my purpose and my story.

I can impact a life in a positive way.
You can encourage people to persevere in difficult life situations.
We can make a difference in one another's lives. |
My husband and I are still married, after 32 years of starting and owning several successful small businesses together. I have a degree in retail merchandising, am a human resource manager, advertising manager and janitor. I have been an employer and employee. I have been a counselee and counseled.
I love to volunteer in my church and community, encouraging women and children. I am a big fan of whoever said, 'volunteering is the rent you pay to live in community,' knowing that lifestyle comes from a giving and generous heart.
My greatest accomplishment is being mom to three of the most fabulous human beings in the world, my two daughters, son and son-in-law are amazing; just ask me!
I love our pure-bred English Pointer, Jake, who gave me purpose and structure in a dark period in my life and our 'Siamese look-alike' cat, Kobe, who teaches me to relax and enjoy life. They are best friends and I smile when I see them together.
